The Game Winner
It was a Saturday in July,
It was a beautiful day,
I had I softball game!
I was nervous though,
Because there was a pitcher,
She was as big as a creature,
Her pitches were flying right over the plate,
They looked like lightning.
I got up to the plate!
BAM!
One pitch goes by,
Then another.
I had to believe that I could hit the ball!
Finally I swung and SMACK!
The ball went flying!
It goes past the infielders then over the outfielders!
I rounded first and I was feeling great!
Next I rounded second and they were finally getting the ball,
Then third I could hear the girls yelling throw it home,
My coach was yelling,
Go home, don’t stop!
I had to slide home, the ump said I was safe!
I had made the winning homerun!
My teammates gathered around me with joy!
